Bio

 

Noreen Linden is an artist and art teacher living and working in Albany California.  She earned her BFA at Kent State University, and MFA at San Francisco Art Institute where she studied painting and experimental film. Following a career in film editing, Noreen returned to the Bay Area and refocused her creative energies on painting. 

Artist Statement

 

As a visual artist I draw my inspiration from the light and shadows that grace my everyday life. I paint in oil on wood panels and canvas, building compositions in which the negative space carries as much weight and interest as the subject. Through my paintings I invite the viewer to experience the magical ways that light and color transform simple objects and places.
